Yeah Hike Those Foreign Rocks

Found this Video on my external hard drive. It is from my trip to Athens over new years sophomore year 2008. We hiked up this mountain overseeing Alexi's house that he had never conquered before, until that new years day...

*The top was fucking freaky. Abandoned military bases and stray dogs. You can hear them bark. It rained on the way down making the rocks slippery.

Swish!

About to start my long monday

Mondays are a bitch. I have class straight from 11:30 to 5:30 since I am taking 5 courses this semester including an independent study in animation. Ugh so 8 min and the day will begin. On another note, my sister Mia got in to Bowdoin early acceptance!!! So she will be here next year which is really exciting. I'll revise and add on to this later, I got to run, let's hope I stay awake...

Coffee Mug

My coffee mug is green and the coffee in it is burnt and tastes bad. It is friday and I have no class. I am in the library and the girl sitting across from has pink glasses. The guy to the right of me basically looks like wolverine from xmen except he has blonde white hair and knows russian (notebook contains a russian looking language). Im bored, alexi is even more board, and we miss having shit to do. We did go rock climbing last night with the climbing club from 5-9 but then just went back to the room and fell asleep watching the lakers-celtics. Our film really is not getting put together, and the sun is out which means the snow is melting = wet shoes, slush, and massive puddles. Damn I just drank more of my coffee, yuck. Not only does it still taste like shit, its hot and I burnt my tongue. Yeah i just sat at this computer to find something to do to procrastinate and this post is dumb but yeah life here is just trudging by slowly. My week included I applying to the Judicial Board, listening to music, working out, sleeping, reading, playing a new sweet game on addicting games, walking, eating, drinking water, laughing, watching hitchcock, not showing up to my one lifeguarding shift cause I slept in, making a storyboard for my independent study in animation, wathing parts of The pepper kid on BCN at least 3 times a day, did my laundry, washed dishes, took out the recycling, talking to Rach on Skype, learning about a culture in Papua New Guinea where ten year old boys give head to elederly men and ingest their semen to become males, watching an intense spanish movie about a transexual, talking with the parents, pathetically falling asleep in at least one of my classes, finding out the indoor track at farley is only a 200 not a 400, and whatevs Im done.

Superbowl Sunday

Cardinals vs. Steelers. Who the fuck cares. However, its now halftime, the only thing I care about which I will tell you why in a sec, but I must admit the last play before halftime was pretty spectacular. A 100 yard interception return for a touchdown, dodging tackles left and right, with a desperate leap into the endzone falling knee first into an Arizona wide-receiver's crouch, allowing the play not be called down, epic. The main event though during halftime is Bruce Springsteen with the E Street Band. I saw him live in Sweden and it was by far the most amazing concert I have been too.
Just wait he's on...

I really don't know what to say. That was JAW-DROPPING AMAZING! Still have a big smile on my face and feeling shivers remember how good he was live in Gotenburg. Fucking A that made my week! Who gives fuck about football, encore! Get back up there Bruce and play Rising, My City of Ruins, Dancing in the Dark! Damn!

Ok took a couple breaths through my nose and have calmed a bit. This weekend was pretty fun, starting with rock climbing in Portland, getting hammered, then seeing Andrew Bird play last night which was an unbelievable production (so talented and he is mean on the violin). Now I have a lot of reading at hand which Ill will hopefully breeze through, but is highly unlikely, and hopefully chat with my girl Rach, sober this time :)

Miss everyone like a ton, which is 2000 pounds, wowza and 32 days until spring break!

City of God

It's Tuesday early afternoon and Alexi and I both only had one class today and all Tuesdays and Thursdays, The Films of Alfred Hitchcock, from 10-11:30. So we have the whole rest of the day off and we are currently nearing the end of one of my favorite films, City of God. Directed by Fernando Meirelles, this 2002 film about the violent life growing up in Rio De Janeiro astonishes me every time I watch it. The cinematography, fast-pace narrative, blood, poverty, sounds; a cinematic masterpiece.
Enough about the film, just see it if you haven't seen it yet, but I will warn you that it is hard to watch.
On another note, I have 37 days until I visit Rachel in Ecuador for spring break and cannot wait to get out of the cold weather and of course see her. I told her yesterday on skype that is was -19 degrees but was mistakenly looking at the temperature in Celsius (still that means it was -2 which is still fucking frigid).
Other than that, Alexi and I have so much reading for our classes this semester and are trying to come up with the narrative for our film festival movie, constantly tossing ideas back and forth.
I got to run to go meet with my dean about my schedule, trying to to add a 5th course.

First Weekend: Alexi and Me

Last night was Saturday and let me tell you how it went:
First of all, it was minus 3 outside and windy, so leaving the apartment and going anywhere (nowhere to go anyways) was not going to happen. Emily gave us her TV and everyone left us their alcohol = Watching TV and Shots. On Spike there was a Ultimate Fighting Marathon and on G4, Ninja Warrior, so we were set for the evening. I had about 3 shots and who knows how many the heavy drinking Greek boy drank, but I was buzzed and took a hot drunk shower which was definitely the highlight of my evening.
So basically the coldness of Maine and everyone gone has made weekends kind of slow to say the least.
Right now Alexi and I are sitting in the Union, Alexi doing some readings, while I am just procrastinating reading everyone's blogs. I decided to make my own so I can keep in touch with all you all's.
On a higher note, the Bowdoin Film Festival is coming up and Alexi and I are currently developing an idea. Once we flesh it out some more I will disclose the plot to you.
On an even higher note, yesterday Alexi and I got plane tickets to visit Kirsten and Rachel over Spring Break. Rachel just got into Ecuador last night and 39 days Ill be submersed into the Spanish speaking city of Quito. Alexi got a great deal on a ticket to Copenhagen, $550, and is going to the city of good looking people and no sun.
I do actually have a lot of reading, and we'll see if I can continue writing in this blog, but yeah, miss everyone a lot, Bowdoin is not the same.
